Chapter. 3 (This is it)

The room was silent; nothing can be heard but the angry taps of the Doctor's fingers against the table. The pain made him frustrated, where was Dempsey? That American was lucky he doesn't feel the pain Richtofen feels daily.

"Hey baby, how are you holding up?" said American entered the room with a big grin. Richtofen just raised an eyebrow to show how mad he was and continued to tab the table while his free hand rubbed his belly hoping to calm the child invading it. Dempsey sighed and walked to the Nazi, sitting in front of Edward. "Hey think about it, it's almost over" Tank smiled but Richtofen just rolled his eyes. He rested his head on the Doctor's abdomen. "I can hear the heartbeats… it's so faint" The words caught the German's attention and he looked down at his lover. "What month did you say you were in?"

"Zhe eighth maybe, I'm not sure"

Dempsey nodded before placing light kisses on Richtofen's stomach. "just one more month Ed" he chuckled. "Can you believe it?" he rubbed the stomach.

All of Richtofen's anger washed out of him when he remembered how excited Dempsey was about the whole baby thing. "Ja" he smiled and his fingers ran through Tank's short blond hair.

"Nikolai does not want to be mood killer but zombies are here"

Dempsey pouted before standing up. "Duty calls, be back when those ass fagots and that bitchy little girl learns TO STOP BULLYING OLDER PEOPLE AND START RESPECTING THEM" he yelled knowing that Samantha will hear him. And Tank left.

Richtofen sighed, the silence was something normal to him, and he was always surrounded by nothing but the furniture. He would never admit it but being pregnant scared him, he was afraid of disappointing Dempsey, he was afraid of losing the only person on this planet that loved him as much as Richtofen loved him. But those were all just negative thoughts that the voices screamed to him. They tried long and hard to keep him their own personal puppet, but this had to stop and Richtofen will stop it so he can give Dempsey the life he asks for.

The next month was the hardest to both Richtofen and Dempsey, The American had to choose between being with the Nazi or protect him, Sam had never stopped her attacks and that pushed Dempsey's nerves to the wall. He woke in the middle of the night and looked at the man lying beside him, Richtofen was in pain, but the pain was going to stop soon, Dempsey expected the baby to be born any day this month. He smiled at the thought and got up leaving the room that he once slept in and walked in the empty halls. "Little girl…" he started, his voice had a tone of anger but he sighed to remove it. "Come on have a heart, can't you give us a break? One month that's all I'm asking for" Dempsey waited for any sign of response and groaned when he didn't get any.

"Dempshey?"

"Hey Rich? You should be asleep" Richtofen shook his head.

"Vhy aren't you?"

Tank shrugged. "I just wanted to take a walk" The German nodded and walked to the other male.

"Come back to bed" Richtofen pouted.

"Okay…" Dempsey smiled. "Let's go"

As days passed Dempsey felt like the awaited day was getting closer and closer, every passing day was just a day shorter in the month and a day closer to the birth of their new child. He'd wake up every day and say tell himself. 'Today is the Day' Samantha seemed to have listened to him since the number of zombies decreased leaving him extra time to be with Richtofen. He waited patiently until…

"MEIN GOTT" Richtofen yelled.

Dempsey held Richtofen's hand tightly as Richtofen squeezed on his. "Today?" Richtofen nodded quickly but yelled soon afterward.

"DEMPSHEY I BLAME YOU"

Dempsey chuckled. "You're just saying that, it's the pregnant mood"

"NO I REALLY REALLY DO"

"Whatever makes you feel better Doc"

Takeo rolled his eyes, how did he manage to end up in this mess? "Push doctor"

Richtofen obeyed and did as he was told, taking in deep breaths after every push, Dempsey kissed Richtofen's hand. "Just a little more" he whispered to his beloved. Edward nodded and pushed one last time before he felt the pressure on his body ease up but he was far too tired to recognize any object around him and his eyes closed.

The next time he woke he saw the huge grin on Nikolai's face. "Good morning Richtofen"

"Ugh… hello Nikolai, Vhat happened?"

"How about you see for yourself Richtofen?" came the familiar voice Edward loved to hear. He walked to the still half-awake Nazi.

"M-Mein gott is zhat… is zhat?

Dempsey nodded. "It's the kid we've been waiting for"

Richtofen took the baby in his arms he uncovered Dempsey's jacket that rapped the baby. "It's a she kraut, you remember our deal yea?"

Richtofen nodded, he was far too amused to be concerned by his lover's teasing right now. The child had soft blond hair and bright green eyes, her cheeks red and she was perfectly tan, she was just the most beautiful thing Richtofen had ever seen. "Annabelle…" Dempsey said.

"Vhat?"

"I want to call her Annabelle… Annabelle Dempsey"

Richtofen looked down at the child that was toying with his finger and smiled. "Annabelle…"

"So is that good?" Dempsey asked and Richtofen nodded. "Sweet"

Richtofen stared at the baby and admired it like he admires Dempsey, this was just the weirdest moment and the happiest in his life, he brushed the blond hair and saw the young girl yawn and hold his wrist, so calm, she was almost an angel, there was just a dark look in her eyes sometimes that made Richtofen smile proudly, she might have a dark side in her just like her mommy. "Hey…" Dempsey alerted the other male. "She has your eyes"

Edward giggled. "Und she has your hair color though this doctor is not fond of zhis color much" he joked.

This was it, this was what Dempsey and Richtofen had waited for since the past nine months, all their hard times, the pain, the survival, seeing this child now it was all worth it…
